Simon Howes

Simon has over 12 years’ experience in Public Mental Health and Suicide Prevention with a specialist interest in men’s emotional health and marketing.  He has designed and developed award-winning campaigns over many years, engaging tens of thousands of men.  More recently, Simon has worked at Public Health England, as part of the national Mental Health & Wellbeing team, and at The Mental Health Foundation. Simon was the facilitator and co-founder of the Cheshire & Merseyside Suicide Reduction Network, which is now recognised as a national example of good practice, and a saw a 55% reduction in suicides amongst the targeted local audience of young men aged 15 – 35 – a faster reduction than England & Wales and the NW during the same period.  He was also responsible for the approach and branding of State of Mind – an award-winning campaign targeting audiences of rugby league players, fans and wider communities.
