Normalising mental health in the workplace

If you are a senior leader in HR, D&I, training or a department head looking to improve attitudes and behaviour around mental health within your organisation, you may be interested in our upcoming Breakfast Briefing and Taster session.

Wednesday 23rd January, 2019 from 8:45am until 12:00pm
Ortus Learning & Events Centre, 82-96 Grove Lane, Camberwell, SE5 8SN
Most of us would agree that we are some way from ‘normalising’ how we discuss and manage mental health in our workplaces.

The latest research data would support this;  In the 2018 Business in the Community survey, Mental Health at Work, only 16% of employees had felt able to disclose a mental health issue and, with good reason, 11% of respondents who disclosed faced disciplinary action, demotion or dismissal.

The session will begin with a briefing session in which expert insights from business leaders and facilitators will be shared on ‘Normalising mental health in the workplace’ where we will explore how organisations can ensure mental health becomes an integral part of working life and how this can improve workplace performance. We will explore approaches that can bring changes in attitudes and behaviour, removing the stigma around mental health to encourage more open conversations, whilst retaining individual and organisation authenticity.

We will hear from workplace experts on their insights and experience around this topic, including how personally, and from an organisational perspective, they have brought change and the positive impact this has had on employee engagement and performance.

The briefing will be followed by a taster session of our Workplace Mental Health Training. This is an introduction to our facilitated training which is suitable for individuals at all levels within an organisation to understand, manage and promote mental health.  This session is suitable for individuals who are interested in finding out more about how to improve the way mental health is managed in their organisation. The session will finish at 12:00pm.
